Today was an exciting day for all the teams as we moved forward with all projects. Casa San Antonio, Aldo Chavarria, and the Los Pipitos groups continued on at their sites today. All the groups saw more patients and helped progressed treatments for many people.
The biggest project today was the Nindiri Clinic group. Students took turns assisting with treatments while the other students helped continue to build equipment and prep the new clinic to move equipment in so that they can move into their big beautiful space. All in all we had about 15 students in total working either with patients, building, or cleaning today at Nindiri. We came here to serve this community and help progress their medical care and by cleaning and prepping a new clinic we will be able to help this clinic continue to serve more patients in a larger space with better equipment for years after we have left. The group got creative and came up with ideas to build even more equipment, including walkers out of PVC pipes, to make as lasting as a difference as we can. While we are only here for two weeks the goal of every project is to make a lasting difference that stretches well beyond our two weeks.
We are excited about what tomorrow has in store for us! The Aldo Chavarria group is about to almost double in size as their group is merging with the inpatient/outpatient group that was unable to go to their original clinic. This will be a great benefit to the clinic as now we will be able to assist in the outpatient side as well. We are continually grateful for our support from back in the US and thank you all for supporting us!
